152MC – Experimenting with Lighting in the Studio
For this Module we have to include a set of images that are interiors, still life, portraits and landscapes. As my parents live three hours away from my university, and I didn’t have any of my parents accessories that helped them to hear. I thought that working with studio was difficult for me as I had no idea what to do. My parents are coming to see me this Sunday for me to take still life images, portraits and necessary interviews, I wanted to book the studio before they came. So I get a chance to experiment with lighting and see what works well and what doesn’t. I don’t normally like working in the studio, as I have no experience with lighting and heavy equipment. However my time in the studio was about preparation, change and experimentation for when I take images of my parents. I took images of my boyfriend, as he needed the images for his clothing brand. Having that in mind, I wanted to experiment with lighting and positioning of my model. As this was a paid shoot for me, I needed to follow with what Max needed for his website. I wanted to play around with the lighting and create something that could link with my project. I think this shoot worked well as this is my first shoot for this project, and also first time working in the studio by myself. In some images, I knew that the lighting didn’t work well and I knew that some of them did. I took roughly around 500 images in the studio so I had a lot to look at afterwards. I am going to experiment a bit more with my parents and see if I can produce anything a bit better. I know that the images I have produced for this shoot will not go forward for my final images, but it has allowed me to get to know the studio better and how everything works.
